Use device details and perform ongoing operational actions.

Operate Device Details and Day-2 Actions

After enrollment, most operational work happens in Device Details. This page is crucial because it combines health visibility, lifecycle actions, telemetry behavior, endpoint configuration, file handling, and alert history for each device.

What to Click and Do Next

  1. Open Operations > Devices.
  2. Click a device name to open Device Details.
  3. In the header card, review status (Online/Offline) and metadata.
  4. Open the action menu (...) for lifecycle actions:
    • Edit
    • Delete
    • Export telemetry
    • Enabled toggle
  5. Click Charts to inspect telemetry cards/charts.
  6. Click Recent Activity to review timeline events.
  7. Click Properties to verify static and template-driven attributes.
  8. Click Telemetry to configure inactivity timeout behavior and save.
  9. Click Connect to copy webhook endpoints for external clients.
  10. Click Files to upload and verify file records.
  11. Click Alerts to inspect device-specific alert history.

Operational Guidance

Use Device Details as the single source for device triage. Start with header status and current alerts, then move through tabs based on symptom type: telemetry issues in Charts/Telemetry, integration issues in Connect, and incident traceability in Alerts.

Validation Checklist

  1. Action menu operations complete successfully.
  2. Telemetry timeout settings are saved and reflected.
  3. File upload appears in table with metadata.
  4. Alert tab shows expected historical records.

Common Issues

  • Charts are empty when no telemetry-capable template is assigned.
  • Webhook tests fail due to endpoint misuse or client authentication issues.
